NEW VRLA BATTERIES FROM ENERSYS MORE THAN DOUBLE SERVICE LIFE, GREATLY REDUCING OPERATING COSTS
 

EnerSys Inc. Stationary Power introduces two new series of 12-volt Valve Regulated Lead Acid (VRLA) batteries, which offer a float service life that is more than double than conventional VRLA batteries. The new premium-grade batteries are designed for Telecom, UPS, General Electronics, and other Security applications that require long-life power solutions.

The new RE and REL series batteries - which provide 5-10 years and 10-15 years float service life, respectively - reduce operating costs considerably because fewer battery replacements and changeouts are required during the end product's lifecycle. Conventional VRLA batteries provide a service life of 3-5 years.

The new RE/REL Series batteries have the same footprints as EnerSys's line of NP Series VRLA batteries, so they can be dropped into existing designs or end products without the need for costly design revisions or product substitutions.

The RE Series includes models with rated capacities of from 5Ah to 12Ah at the 20-hour rate; REL Series models have rated capacities of from 15Ah to 65Ah. The batteries have an operating temperature range of -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C. The battery jar and cover material are constructed from flame-retardant UL94 VO plastic.
